About RM

RM was born in Howrah, WB, India. He obtained his bachelor's degree from Presidency College under the University of Calcutta in 2006.  After that, he moved to northeast India to get an MSc degree from IIT Guwahati in 2008. He got the first essence of research in the lab of Prof T. Punniyamurthy as a master's project student.
He received his PhD from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in the group of Prof. Ashoka G. Samuelson on bio-organometallic chemistry in 2014.

Subsequently, he moved to Germany for his postdoctoral studies. After a stay at MPI Kohlenforschung with Prof. Klaus-Richard Pörschke (2014–2015), he moved to the University of Duisburg-Essen to learn about supramolecular chemistry and mechanically interlocked molecules with Prof. Jochen Niemeyer from 2015 to 2017.

He worked in the group of Prof. Benjamin List at MPI Kohlenforschung, working on asymmetric catalysis from 2017 to 2018. In September 2018, he joined as an Assistant Professor in the School of Chemical and Materials Sciences (SCMS) at IIT Goa.

Since November 2023, he has been working as an Associate Professor in the School of Chemical and Materials Sciences (SCMS) at IIT Goa.
